Great affliction.  Are you overwhelmed with whatever you are facing at this moment?  Depressed?  Are you at the breaking point?  Yes, there is a breaking point; you either turn bitter, or turn to God.  Beloved, you don’t ever want to turn to doubt and unbelief…

“For as the heavens are high above the earth, [So] great is His mercy toward those who fear Him;

As far as the east is from the west, [So] far has He removed our transgressions from us.

As a father pities [his] children, [So] the LORD pities those who fear Him.

For He knows our frame; He remembers that we [are] dust.”  Psalm 103: 11-14

When you can, read the rest of Psalm 103.  Better yet, read through all the psalms.  You’ll be comforted.   God always comforts his children.  He is the lifter of your head – He’s touched by our infirmities.  His Word is your grief counseling!  Lasting comfort only comes from the Word of God.  He’s the Living God.  We have a resurrected Christ!

    Lori….

    Perfect timing. I do not need to be overwhelmed for He is in charge. He carries it all. I especially like Psalm 91–He who resides in the house of the Lord, rest in the shadow of the almighty….for he is my refuge…my strength….

    Psalm 46– My ever present help in times of trouble…should I be overwhelmed then… nahhh!

      Great to see you, Carmela! Yes, “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” Love it!! God bless :)

    No greater words spoken then the words of Christ. As human beings we hate suffering but God uses our sufferings for blessings, I have learned and still learning that without suffering there can be NO COMPASSION!

    Thanks sis for the post I know you have done some suffering and we don’t really know each other that well but I sense it through some of your postings I’ve read and you know compassion to God be the glory and may His blessings shower always on you.

    Hi Desiray, thank you for saying that there can be no compassion without suffering. How true! My character has totally changed from a woman who was so shallow-having no empathy or compassion,to a woman who’s character is developing empathy. Yes, it is only by walking in the same shoes of someone do you get the clear picture of how things really are. I can say that I no longer have a shallow view of other’s hardships!

    I can totally see your heart of compassion through your postings as well, my sister! Blessings to you and yours :)

  4. Lori, God is using you in a wonderful way to minister to others who are suffering! The Psalms are so beautiful to read and be reminded of God’s great power and comfort.

    Are you familiar with the song, “When God Ran?” Don’t know why but as I was reading your post it popped into my mind. It is by phillips, craig and dean. Great post and a great tune.
