Awesome words. I wasn’t planning to blog today. Even though I’ve sung along with this song a hundred times before, that particular chorus stands out. This is really mind-blowing for me… out of all that is wrong with my world, HE IS SHIELDING MY WAY!! In Lamentations 3: 22, we read that it could be much worse than it already is!
“Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not.” NJKV
“The faithful love of the Lord never ends! By His mercies we are kept from complete destruction.” NLT
I thought mentioning this would be of so much value, encouraging us to persevere in this race of faith. Whatever circumstance or situation we’re facing in our lives, the prophet Jeremiah lets us know that the Holy Spirit is holding back all of the evil that could overwhelm and destroy us. In other words, He has a leash on the “prince of this world.”
“The Lord is like a father to His children, tender and compassionate to those who fear Him. For He knows how weak we are; He remembers we are only dust.” Psalm 103: 13-14
