“You are my hiding place; You shall preserve me from trouble; You shall surround me with songs of deliverance.”  Psalm 32: 7

Until we see God in every circumstance… our faith will falter.  In God’s world, there is no such thing as being a victim to our circumstances. Our circumstances are opportunities to grow and learn.  Perhaps the troubling circumstances around you will not any time soon be taken away.  If that’s the case, what on earth will you do?  Once we learn to keep our eyes on Jesus, and see Him in everything that touches our lives -good or bad – He will calm and color it all;  He will surround me with songs of deliverance.

So understand that the person getting on your last nerve is the vessel God has handpicked just for you.  Do you remember asking God for more patience or compassion?  Well, that person annoying you is being used by God to teach you what you’ve asked of Him.  That’s what I mean when I say God is in everything, so you just have to look.  Don’t deny God’s sovereignty!  How about this verse of scripture…

“Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return there. The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away; Blessed be the name of the LORD.”   Job 1: 21

Job had lost his possessions and his family, but he reacted the right way.  He acknowledged God’s sovereign authority over everything he was blessed with.  It was the greatest test of Job’s life, but he is proof that people can love God for who He is, not for what He gives.  Nothing but seeing God in everything will completely put an end to all complaining and all rebellious thoughts.  I know this truth firsthand.

Very Important:  Job didn’t hide his overwhelming grief.  God gave us emotions, and expressing them isn’t wrong.  If you’ve experienced a deep loss or disappointment… Grieve.  Grieve with your friends, but remember to bring Christ into your grieving.  It’s only then will you be Ok, and truly ready to give life another try.  His wisdom, love and power will never fail you.  His most distressing details in our lives are for our deepest spiritual gain.
