separationAre you surrounded by people who do not understand you, never ask your opinion, aren’t interested in what or Who you love, and always push you aside?  Do you feel like you’re not even on the radar?  If so, my friend, you’re not alone.  I just want to write a few things about this to encourage those of us on the front lines…

“Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword.  For I have come to ‘set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law’;  and ‘a man’s enemies will be those of his own household.’  He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me.”  Matthew 10: 34-39

The message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is indeed a message of peace. Yet since it calls the individual to a radical commitment to Jesus Himself, it is a message of peace that divides between those who choose it and those who reject it.  Embracing the gospel makes life more difficult in some respects, because Jesus demands allegiance that takes priority over the natural ties of life.

Those of us who have been divided from loved ones have such a deep, deep sorrow on the inside that cannot be described by words.  The world has always fought against Christ and His true disciples.  We have been, and still are getting slayed with the sword of persecution!

Our lives give evidence of the love and commitment we have for Christ.  Those who don’t share that same love and commitment to Christ, get convicted by the Holy Spirit in us.  The faith of those that believe condemns those that believe not, and, therefore, they have an enmity against them that believe.  Put on your Spiritual Armor my friends.  Heaven is so much opposed on earth, because earth is so much under the power of hell…

“… in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience,”  Ephesians 2: 2
