king nebby humbledKing Nebby… oh, let us not forget him!Let us not forget the lesson we can learn from his life. In these first few chapters of Daniel, the Bible tells us how God was working in the king’s life. Yes, God allowed him many victories in battle, but we see how God was setting the stage… how He was using Nebuchadnezzar to accomplish His purposes!

God allowed King Nebby to conquer Judah, and to deport the best young Jewish boys–including Daniel, who would change the king’s life. The next thing God permitted Nebby to do, was to attempt killing three young boys who refused to bow down and worship him. The arrogant king really thought he had the power over life and death. Through dreams and miracles, God was showing Nebby who really was boss. But the king didn’t get it, and we all know what happened.

This sends a strong message. Can we see how God is working in our lives? Every one of us needs to stop and smell the roses. Some of us are so focused on our own lives and our own stuff, that we’re totally blinded to the things of God. Every time we ignore that small voice whispering to us, our hearts and minds get hardened. After a while… we can’t hear God at all. I’m not sure why I’m writing about this, or who I’m writing this to. You know who you are. There’s something you really need help with. You don’t know how to proceed with something. You need to repent, and ask God to unclog your ears.  Come back, because He knows what’s best for you.
