I feel so blessed to be able to share the Word of God with you. Today I’m going to share a few “revelations” I’ve gotten on some scriptures that I have read many times before…

“Fear and trembling overwhelm me, and I can’t stop shaking. Oh, that I had wings like a dove; then I would fly away and rest!” Psalm 55: 5-6

Even those who are especially close to God, as David was, have moments when they want to escape from their problems and pressures. When we’re bogged down with weight that crushes us, we as Christians get wings and learn to fly. That statement may rock the theology of some people, but it’s a blessed truth. David cried out these words while he was enduring a great trial. But David also realized that it was possible to “fly away and rest.” In verse 22, David says…

“Give your burdens to the Lord, and He will take care of you. He will not permit the Godly to slip and fall.”

This word tells us that God really does want us to give Him our burdens. But aren’t there so many times we continue to hold on to the pain and the heartache? We are simply in a place without the peace of God, which we so desperately need; yet we say we trust Him. I’m guilty of this as well. I love the saying, “Put your money where your mouth is!” I think that applies here.

Our crosses and burdens are here to make us learn dependence on God alone. They are a tool used by God to make us learn how to wait upon Him. Again that can rock someone’s theology, but I’m living it and know it’s true. Once we have truly given our burden to the Lord, he tells us…

“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40: 31

Allow me to share a small part of a poem by Mary Butterfield…

“Ah yes, it will break and crush my life;
I cannot bear this constant strain
of endless aggravating cares;
They are too great for such as I.”
So thus my heart consoled itself,
“Enjoying misery,” when lo!
A “still small voice” distinctly said,
“’Twas sent to lift you—not to crush.”

Be encouraged and enjoy the rest of the day:) Love Ya!
