Here’s a quick thought… does your gratitude spring forth before the blessing?  That’s right.  Do you thank God for answers you have yet to see?  Thanking God for things that haven’t materialized thus far is a powerful expression of assurance that the solution to your problem is certainly on the way!  I love the way the NLT defines faith…

“Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about the things we cannot see.”  Hebrews 11: 1

Faith must be your anchor.  You must know for certain that God has heard your prayer.  The biggest roadblock to most of us is the silence coming from the throne of God, especially when our need seems urgent.  Every fiber of your being is poured out to God as a drink offering.  Your heart is breaking.  But still nothing… only the deafening sound of silence.  You can’t stay at the place you’re presently at.  Something has got to give?

If this sounds like you, the best advice I can give is to ask God to close all of the doors that you may be tempted to open… doors that are not His perfect plan for your life.  If you come to Him for guidance, He will guide you.  God often guides us through our circumstances.  Keep moving, and consider the silence of God to be an indication that you are on the right path.  Let me stop here and give a scripture…

“You have enclosed me behind and before, and laid Your hand upon me.” Psalm 139:5

This scripture verse says that He has gone before us.  As we continue down this windy path called life, we must trust that He has locked the doors that we otherwise would have been inclined to open.  But we can be sure that somewhere beyond the many locked doors is a door He has left unlocked.  That’s when we’ll find the answer  we would never have dreamed!  I have one word for all of us…

PERSEVERE!
