“I will give you back your health and heal your wounds,” says the LORD.
“For you are called an outcast—
‘Jerusalem for whom no one cares.” Jeremiah 30:17
What a precious promise of a return out of captivity! Here’s some encouragement for those of us who are entering into, in the midst of, or coming out of the wilderness. What a teacher the Holy Spirit is! Didn’t Jesus tell us he would guide us into all truth? And once we get a taste of the truth, we will no longer fall for lies. We will know the truth, and the truth will set us free!
Amazing, isn’t it… the pathway of faith…it’s here in the pathway of faith that we truly come to understand that the Lord’s thoughts and ways are so higher than our ways. We read exactly that in the Bible, but there’s a world of difference in the one who says,”I have read,” and the one who says “I have learned.” In both the spiritual and physical realms, great pressure makes great power! Even though our circumstances bring us into the place of death, it doesn’t have to spell disaster.
If we trust in the Lord and wait patiently… that trust lays the groundwork for the display of Almighty God’s glory and power. In my spirit man I simply know that seeing and experiencing His glory is a byproduct of genuinely knowing Him and being on fire for Him.
When we go through the wilderness, little by little we are shown all of the different areas of our character and behavior that need to change. The wilderness cannot be adequately described to someone unless they are either in it, or have been through it. Like Job, you may have all kinds of people trying to tell you what you should do, or how and why you got yourself into your bad situation. But no matter what, there is someone who knows exactly what is happening, and that someone is God. He desires to do great things in your life, and in order to do that He needs to change you… for the better, to train and prepare you, to ensure you will be Immovable and Unshakable to All Things Going On Around You. The goal is to have a heart that beats with His. Just look around… the harvest is ripe 🙂
