“The Lord your God in your midst,
The Mighty One, will save;
He will rejoice over you with gladness,
He will quiet you with His love,
He will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3: 17

The thought began last night. There was quiet in the house. The song the Holy Spirit brought to my mind was “Lord, I’m amazed.” Immediately I thought of what was going on in the Spiritual Realm…the amazing thought of the Lord singing and dancing over me. No, I can’t dance in the physical, but in the spirit I was dancing with Jesus. And then I came back to earth—back to the reality that I am physically separated from my Savior, but one glorious day we’ll be together. As for my life now, “I will serve my generation like David did (Acts 13: 36).”

Back to Zephaniah… he points out that gladness results when we allow God to be present in our lives. We do that by faithfully following and obeying Him. Then God rejoices over us with singing. If you want to be happy, draw close and cling to the source of happiness. It is nothing but amazing… the God of the universe—the One who named all of the stars, sings over you!

Perhaps someone who is reading this thinks they don’t matter. Maybe you think you’re life is too messed up, and you don’t mean much to anyone. Take heart– You are of great worth. Jesus tells us,

“What is the price of two sparrows—on copper coin? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.” Matthew 10: 29-30

You dance over me
While I am unaware
You sing all around
But I never hear the sound

Lord, I’m amazed by You
Lord, I’m amazed by You
Lord, I’m amazed by You
And how You love me

You paint the morning sky
With miracles in mind
My hope will always stand
For You hold me in Your hand

How deep, how wide
How great is Your love for me
