“But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.” Galatians 5:22-23

I can now see beyond my disease, and tell you that I know…that I know…that I know…His love for lil’ol me is so great, that He allowed what He hates to accomplish what He loves. In other words, He allowed my suffering (and sometimes it’s excruciatingly hard), to bring me to the end of myself…and make me realize that HE is God, and I am not. I needed a Savior, and Jesus came to my rescue.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son and whoever believes in him will not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
When you truly understand this…I mean, there comes a time when the knowledge about Him in your head connects w/your heart…the blinders come off, and you’re transformed! THAT IS LOVE.
How can we not love Him back? ~ “We love him because he loved us first.” 1 John 4:19
But I’m not only talking about the love He has for us. The Bible says that He has given us the power to love.
“For we know how dearly God loves us, because He has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.” Romans 5:5
The love that caused Christ to die is the same love that sends the Holy Spirit to live in us and guide us every day…and boy, how we need all the power we can get.
Tomorrow, we’ll talk about loving the “unlovable”. There’s so much love to go around…especially when the Holy Spirit’s involved!
