“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.”  John 14: 26

“I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.”  Ephesians 1: 17

After our new birth something amazing happens… the Holy Spirit removes whatever blinders we have that are preventing us from seeing the way things truly are; He opens our eyes so we can see the meaning of God’s Word, and He shows us how it applies to our lives. Experience has taught me well, and I can say with much confidence that God allows his children to learn certain secrets of His providence and sovereignty…

The secret of the LORD is with those who fear Him, and He will show them His covenant.”  Psalm 25:14

No one can know what the Lord is thinking, but through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, believers have insight into some of God’s plans, thoughts, and actions.  It’s a fact that some of God’s most valuable gifts to us are wrapped in unattractive paper, but faith looks deeper. The Holy Spirit says, “This is a treasure in darkness; God’s secret. You’re only looking on the outside. Let me teach you how to look deeper and see the hidden meaning.” The Holy Spirit will help us see that circumstances not only shape us into vessels of beauty, but we are given great resources of value as we endure. The Holy Spirit teaches us to see freedom-not from our circumstances, but through our circumstances. Through the Holy Spirit, we can begin to know God’s thoughts, talk to Him, and expect our answers to prayers…

“No one can know a person’s thoughts except that person’s own spirit, and no one can know God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit.  And we have received God’s Spirit (not the world’s spirit), so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us.”  1 Corinthians 2: 11-12
