“Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so that you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared.” Ephesians 6:13-15

Know Jesus. Know peace. When we have peace with God, we have peace within.

So what is the relationship of the Shoes of Peace to the armor?
In Paul’s day, Roman soldiers wore shoes that had really great traction (think of golf, baseball, or football shoes). The soldiers needed to be sure-footed in battle. God tells us to “put on” the shoes of peace.

When our lives are chaotic, we can be overwhelmed with worry, desperation, and confusion. But with Christ, we are protected. The Prince of Peace is our armor. The shoes guard us wherever we go. Listen to this promise God makes us in the book of Isaiah, “You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, whose thoughts are fixed on you” Isaiah 26:3

I also think that being followers of Christ, we have a responsibility to share our hope – Thus, we must “put on” The Shoes of The Gospel of Peace. The devil wants us to think that telling others the Good News is a worthless and hopeless task – the size of the task is too big and the negative responses are too much to handle. But the shoes God gives us are the motivation to continue to proclaim the truth that is available in God – news everyone needs to hear. (NLT Commentary)

The next piece of armor we’ll look at is The Shield of Faith…
