Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things you have seen and heard: the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have the Gospel preached to them. And blessed is he who is not offended by me.” Luke 7:22-23

What does He mean, “Blessed is he who is not offended by me?” This was Jesus’ response when John the Baptist sent two of his disciples to ask Jesus, “Are you the Messiah we’ve been expecting, or should we keep looking for someone else?”

John was confused because the reports he received about Jesus were unexpected and incomplete. John’s doubts were natural. Jesus wasn’t upset with him because he had doubts; Jesus didn’t rebuke him. Jesus responded to John in a way he could understand. Jesus explained that He had accomplished what the Messiah was supposed to accomplish.

Many people have questions about Jesus… and that’s OK. God can handle all of our questions and doubts. He actually welcomes questions. It’s OK to ask about Jesus ~Who He is or what He expects of you? Just ask God to reveal Himself or show you the truth about Himself. And here’s the key… You must look for the answer. Be sensitive to the people around you; God may be pointing you in the right direction through their words or actions. Keep your eyes and ears open.

I guarantee this, and can even state my life on this… When you come to God, and sincerely ask Him to reveal truth to you ~ He will. You can expect Him to answer, but again… it’s your responsibility to be sensitive to your surroundings. He may provide the answer you’re looking for through someone else… maybe you get invited to church, or someone gives you a Bible or a gift containing scripture…there is going to be some way God will get through to you. Just ask, and see.

“Oh taste and see that the Lord is good.”
Psalm 34: 8

I got this in my email right after writing this post. I thought that this really adds to this post. It’s called WHISPERS…

The man whispered, “God, speak to me” and a meadowlark sang. But, the man did not hear.

So the man yelled, “God, speak to me” and the thunder rolled across the sky. But, the man did not listen.

The man looked around and said, “God let me see you.” And a star shined brightly. But the man did not see.

And, the man shouted, “God show me a miracle.” And, a life was born. But, the man did not notice.

So, the man cried out in despair, “Touch me God, and let me know you are here.” Whereupon, God reached down and touched the man. But, the man brushed the butterfly away and walked on.

I found this to be a great reminder that God is always around us in the little and simple things that we take for granted … even in our electronic age.
So I would like to add one more:
The man cried, “God, I need your help!” And an e-mail arrived reaching out with good news and encouragement.
But, the man deleted it and continued crying.

Don’t miss out on a blessing because it isn’t packaged the way that you expect.

Have A Happy Day!
