Shepherds always walk ahead of their sheep. They’re always out in front, so any attack meant for the sheep would be first met head on by the shepherd. Tomorrow? God’s already there. All of the tomorrows of life have to pass through our Good Shepherd before they even touch us. That’s somewhat of a comfort, especially when we consider Jesus knows what and how much we can take or handle. Even though sometimes we cry, kick, and scream… don’t you think God weeps when He sees all the suffering? Meditate on this…

“We know that all things work out for the good of those who love God, and are called according to His purpose.” Romans 8: 28

Things that cause pain must be allowed. If God didn’t have our best interest in mind, Romans 8: 28 would be a lie! If God’s loving hand moves us forward, it has to be best. Even as you question… hold onto God. No matter what… hold onto God. I think of the saints in the Bible who, by God’s amazing grace and steadfast faith, stood on the promises – and those promises eventually came to pass! Now it’s our turn.

If God brings you to it, He’ll bring you through it, is a great truth. Another great truth is that He doesn’t give us the entire game plan. He requires us to walk by faith. And as we take each step – perhaps each baby step— in our journey, He will further illuminate the path. So forward, in His name, we go!

“The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want. He makes
me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
for His name sake.” Psalm 23: 1-3

Have a nice weekend!
