I think we’ll pick up on the Armor tomorrow or next week. I want to show you something…
Let’s go back to the Old Testament to the book of Isaiah. The scripture I plan on sharing with you, was a pivotal point in my early Christian walk (I’ve been saved 7 years). When I read this, the words seemed to jump off the page, and things kind of made a little more sense to me. But when I realized this actually came from the mouth of God, somehow…my pill (my disease, and various trials) seemed to be a little more easier to swallow. When I was just starting my Christian walk, others would always quote Jeremiah. 29:11, (“For I know the plans…”). There’s no better way for scripture to penetrate your soul than to read it yoursefl, and then meditate on it.
Open your Bible to Isaiah 45:3. You may have a different translation, but I’m using the New Living Translation and The New King James version. It says,.
“I will give you treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places.”
Look closely at the second part of the verse…”I will do this so you may know that I am the Lord, the God of Israel, the one who calls you by name.”
Think about this: We gain wisdom, acquire character traits we never had before, maybe we gain compassion, more patience…etc. These are our “treasures” we learned (or are learning) through our dark periods.

When I look at the second part of the verse…Through my trials, I have learned Who God is. I know He has a calling on my life, and I know He has a calling for you too.

Isn’t God amazing?
