We will definitely continue with the Proverbs, but first let me share a little story with you about this scripture verse…

“O you afflicted one, tossed with tempest, and not comforted,
Behold, I will lay your stones with colorful gems,
And lay your foundations with sapphires.” Isaiah 54:11 (NKJV)

First let me say that this theme of restoration in the Bible illustrates the concept of the flesh and the spirit; what is accomplished in our own strength and what is accomplished through reliance upon the Lord. There’s a story of a beautiful stone wall, and the stones speak to us with much needed  knowledge:  they say, “We have come from remote places, places far away, from mountains that have rugged cliffs. The elements have worked on for us many ages and have taken their toll on us, to where all we could see were cracks, chasms, and gaps.

We have endured much to be used to make this wall so beautiful. We are also used to make elegant homes for you. Dynamite blew us apart and tore at our very hearts. Pickaxes and chisels have broken us and split us into pieces. As we laid disfigured and broken in the quarry, we could see no design or purpose for everything we’ve been through. Slowly but surely we were cut into blocks, and some of us were hand carved until we had a fine edge. Now you see that we are complete, our purpose is made clear, and people admire our beauty.

“You may still be in your quarry, and like us when we were broken and just existing in a pile, there is much you do not understand. But we are here to tell you that you are destined for a higher building, and someday you will be placed in that building by angelic hands. You will become a living stone in a heavenly temple.”

I am so thankful that God has surrounded me with people, and all kinds of things and resources letting me know what is going on…letting me know that I am being prepared for something of great value, AND SO ARE YOU! I know that I am called to encourage you in whatever you are facing. God wants you to know that whatever you’re up against now, or will be up against in the future… He is behind it. Even though you’re in the fire, you will not be burned (although it may seem that way at times), you will come forth as gold!

“But he knows where I am going. And when he tests me, I will come out as pure gold.” Job 23:10

Do you believe that?
